Enjoy the unique craftsmanship and traditional characteristics of our beautiful artisan goods, handmade by over 500 regional artists. Owned by Berea College, the Log House Craft Gallery is the longest-running craft gallery in the state of Kentucky. All proceeds from the craft gallery go back into the community, allowing students from all walks of life access to quality education, including notable alumni like Nobel Prize winner John Fenn, convention-defying author and activist bell hooks, and Carter G. Woodson, historian, journalist, and founder of Black History Month. Since the 19th century, your patronage has helped the college remain tuition-free, providing financial stability and academic opportunities to those in need of support. ...
As a federally recognized work college, students of Berea College participate in several work-study programs, including traditional craftsmanship and running of the gallery. Be sure to check out our Student Craft section to browse the beautiful handiwork of students devoted to time-honored skills. To preserve the rugged, self-sufficient cultural heritage of the Appalachian frontier, we also showcase one-of-a-kind folk art from local artisans. Check out our various wares and goods, featuring everything from home decor, kitchenware, food, and spices to toys and games, jewelry and accessories, and garden supplies. The Log House Craft Gallery is the perfect place for adding a touch of rustic whimsy to your home.
